Cultivating Indigo from Seed to Dye in Brooklyn, NY

Indigofera Tinctoria (tropical indigo) budded unexpectedly in my tree pit after I dumped what I thought were failed seeds in soil outside. Summer 2017.

Thanks to support from Puffin Foundation West, allowing me to produce indigo from seed to dye in Brooklyn, and to provide dyeing workshops incorporating context about tropical indigo as a colonial American cash crop.
